1. I don’t need to tell you that a well-balanced diet which includes lots of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, proteins, and nuts is important.
  2. Avoid drinking alcohol. The effectiveness of psoriasis treatment reduces because of alcohol.
  3. Start taking fish oil capsules. Omega-3 fatty acids found in fish oil reduce inflammation associated with psoriasis. The dose is 2 capsules per day with food.
  4. Drink at least 8 glasses of water per day. This detoxifies the whole body internally.
  5. Avoid fast food & foods containing colors & preservatives.
  6. Stop using soaps for bathing because they remove natural oils and dry your skin. Instead use a good quality body wash which has natural ingredients.
  7. Moisturize your skin at least twice a day; that is after bathing and before sleeping. You can use natural coconut oil or any dermatologically tested moisturizer.
  8. Expose your skin to a small amount of sunlight every day; but too much sun can worsen psoriasis.
  9. You can apply aloe vera cream on the lesions. It reduces redness, itching, scaling & inflammation.
  10. Tea tree oil helps in scalp psoriasis.
  11. Avoid dusty and polluted environment.
  12. Do yoga & meditation because stress aggravates psoriasis.
  13. Avoid factors which trigger psoriasis like skin injury, stress, smoking, cold dry weather, pain killers and so on.
