What is Asthma?

Asthma is a Greek word which means ‘to fight for each single breath.’

The air we breathe travels through bronchial tubes which are also known as airways.

In asthma these airways constrict which causes obstruction to free airflow.

In asthma patients there is hypersensitivity of the airways and even mild allergies constrict the airways.

I have seen in my clinical practice, which I have been doing since 1997, that these days asthma patients are increasing in number and the major reason is increased air pollution.

Patients who have a family history of asthma catch it quickly.

Apart from air pollution different things that can trigger attack of asthma are as follows:

Dust, Pollen, Pets, Paint, Perfume, Seafood, Common cold cough, Sinusitis, Bronchitis, Tobacco, Cigarette, Vaping, Hukkah, Exercise, Emotional stress, Menses before, Weather change.

Many a times asthma alternates with skin diseases like dermatitis, eczema, urticaria.

Symptoms of Asthma

  1. Wheezing
  2. Coughing
  3. Pain in chest
  4. Breathlessness
  5. Anxiety

Allopathic Treatment

When an allopathic doctor treats an asthmatic patient, he prescribes corticosteroids in the form of inhaler and / or tablet.

Apart from these anti allergic medicines are given; and sometimes antibiotics are also added.

These medicines are super effective but only till the patient is taking them. As soon as the patient stops taking these medicines asthma problem starts again.

The biggest problem is that the patient can’t continue these medicines for a longer duration because these cause side effects and now the patient starts searching for a good homeopathic doctor.

Homeopathy Treatment

I have seen in my practice that in asthma only classical constitutional treatment works. The reason is no two cases of asthma are same. The causes of asthma are different. The things which trigger asthma are different.

In cases of asthma, one should avoid over-the-counter homeopathic medicines because these may harm more than help you.

Homeopathic medicines treat asthma from the root rather than suppressing it.

The patient feels better as there is a marked reduction in wheezing, breathlessness, and cough.

As the homeopathic treatment progresses, the patient’s allopathy medicines reduce and then finally stop.

I have seen in my practice that I am able to cure asthma cases completely in 1.5 to 2 years but since the air pollution has increased the duration of treatment has also increased.

Number of Medicines

There are around 335 medicines in homeopathy for asthma.

Now which of these medicines are to be given, in how much potency, how many times in a day – this is a complicated process which only a highly qualified and experienced doctor can do.

A sensible doctor never prescribes on the name of the disease asthma. He takes the complete history of the patient, then studies his symptoms properly.

After this, he selects the medicines keeping in mind the susceptibility of the patient and decides upon the potency and repetition of medicines.

“Homeopathy is not readymade, it is tailormade.”

While treating asthma I prescribe for one month and then review the patient after that. Every month the case is studied again, thereby finetuning the medicines and their potencies.

How much improvement you get in asthma depends upon your choice of doctor. These days KYC is done in banks; I think patients should also do KYD – Know Your Doctor.

Name of Medicines?

Friends, in this blog I have not named any medicines, nor I have promoted medicines of any company; because by doing so I will be playing with your health and may harm you. A sane doctor will never do this.
